  10.        This chapter contains information you need to know about
  11.        Motif.  It includes changes and additions since the last
  12.        release, known problems, and documentation errors.

  14.        7.1  _L_e_g_a_l__N_o_t_i_c_e

  16.        Silicon Graphics certifies that IRIX/Motif 1.0.1 is
  17.        OSF/Motif R1.1.3 Validated as tested with the OSF/Motif
  18.        Validation Test Suite R1.0 with no waivers.

  29.        The following changes were already included in the previous
  30.        release of IRIX/Motif.  They have not changed since then,
  31.        but are mentioned because they differ from the OSF version.

  33.           +o QUIT has been added to the default _m_w_m root menu.
  34.  
  35.           +o _m_w_m includes a built-in root menu if none is provided
  36.             in any configuration files.

  39.        7.3  _K_n_o_w_n__P_r_o_b_l_e_m_s__a_n_d__W_o_r_k_a_r_o_u_n_d_s

  41.           +o Occasionally, when moving between two windows using
  42.             non-default colormaps, there is some brief unnecessary
  43.             colormap flashing.  The correct colormap is, however,
  44.             installed last, and thus no workaround is required.
  45.  
  46.           +o When moving rapidly between windows, occasionally the
  47.             wrong one has focus.  To fix, move out and back into
  48.             that window.
  49.  
  50.           +o If _m_w_m receives a signal it cannot catch (for example,
  51.             _k_i_l_l_a_l_l _m_w_m) you might be unable to type in any
  52.             windows.  This is because the windows are unable to get
  53.             focus.  If this happens, you need to restart a window
  54.             manager.  There are several ways you may be able to
  55.             start one:

  58.                  you can start _4_D_w_m).

  155.        The _O_S_F/_M_o_t_i_f _U_s_e_r'_s _G_u_i_d_e is an OSF/Motif 1.0 manual.  It
  156.        has not been revised for OSF/Motif 1.1.  (IRIX/Motif 1.0.1
  157.        is a port of OSF/Motif 1.1.3.)  The user's guide assumes
  158.        that _m_r_e, the Motif Resource Editor demonstration program is
  159.        shipped as an executable.  Because this program is an OSF
  160.        demonstration program, and because it is unsupported by OSF,
  161.        it is shipped with the other demonstration programs.  All
  162.        demonstration programs are shipped in source form and must
  163.        be compiled before use.

  165.        _p_g _v_i_i_i  _m_r_e is shipped as a demonstration program, in
  166.                 source form.  Silicon Graphics does not consider it
  167.                 a supported program.

  169.        _p_g _x     The right (not the middle) mouse button is the menu
